We love designers that can take inspiration from the runways and translate it for the consumers at boutiques who are looking for great style without spending thousands. This is why we love designers like Amanda Uprichard who can make ruffles for girls who don't need the drama of a Lanvin piece and Dolce Vita who makes prints we can mix and match a little more subtly than Balenciaga or Proenza. Yet when its that time to make a splurge purchase, we all want something original, unique and special-items we won't find everywhere else. So why does Christian Siriano knock off his fellow designers and charge Saks prices? Would you buy his pieces that cost $$$ when its already been done? See for yourself:

This seems a little TOO inspired from Armani's Couture collection below

The shape from the dress at left and fabric from the right? Add some sleeves and Siriano's dress copy cat is apparent.

Unfortunately this trend continues with references to several other major designers, from Burberry to McQueen to Jil Sander. While trends are integral to fashion, Siriano seems to have gotten so caught up in what is fashionable that there is barely an ounce of creativity. The obvious pursuit of creating a "collection" that can compete with Parisian fashion houses has been his greatest failure-- this appears to be the work of a fashion student, not a fashion innovator.

$1,245 spiked Louboutins deemed "weapon" by TSA.

The Transportation Security Administration has been extra tough on passengers recently, but we never thought fashionable items could be considered a security threat. Taz Arnold was passing through airport security on January 2 when TSA agents attempted to confiscate his $1,245 Christian Louboutin Rollerboy Spike shoes. According to his Twitter account, officials called them weapons. After much deliberation, Arnold was allowed to keep his fancy footwear with a warning that they very well could be taken away next time.

The TSA regulations website says metal scissors and hand tools are permitted on flights, including

screwdrivers under seven inches in length. We think those might be able to inflict a bit more damage than a studded shoe, but we suppose the TSA were just trying to play it safe.

A while back TSA agents stopped Kelly Osbourne because she had a tiny keychain in her bag in the shape of a gun. We could imagine a picky agent deeming a curling iron, eyelash curler, or even certain stilettos dangerous.

Maison Martin Margiela went 2D for Spring 2011 collection - in my opinion cool at first glance but definitely NOT wearable. Towards the end of the show, the entire front of a beaded dress was stretched over a rectangular piece of plastic extending from the model's shoulders to the floor, while the back of the gown was stretched across her form.

At the Spring 2011 fashion weeks, everyone was arriving in Valentino's Kitten heels, looking way more comfortable than their 6" counterparts that have women hobbling through cobblestone streets. While I plan on wearing my Helianthus holiday dresses paired with some dauntingly high shoes, im wondering if perhaps these kitten heels deserve a try. Thoughts?

A) She ROCKED the Burberry Prosum ads, and looked gorgeous and since then has showed up to several events looking amazing in Burberry and a variety of other georgeous dresses that she obviously picked out herself (no stylist needed)

B) She got gutsey and chopped off ALL her locks, and still works it (I cant live without my ridiculously long hair so I envy her courage)

C) Her first post-Potter project includes a sustainable collection for Alberta Ferretti, "I will put it out there that I will work for anyone for free if they are prepared to make their clothing fair trade organic"

D) Considering that she started her career looking like this, she's definitely moving up!!!
