Winter Dresses

After spending a week focusing on nothing but the most elaborate ensembles for Halloween, November is upon us- meaning winter and all of its wonderful excuses to dress up is rapidly approaching!  School winter formals, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukah, and New Years celebrations all make us want something fresh and fun to wear, and Helianthus is the perfect spot to find something to make you look and feel amazing on any special occassion---or just a fun night out!

Were loving this seasons trends off the high end runways-and loving even more that we can take inspiration from our favorite luxury designers and create our own looks from pieces at the store!  Take a peek to find out what's in store, and what youll love to add to your wardrobe for winter.......

I'm really loving the attention to shoulder details this year- garments frame the body beautifully and flatter all body types. One of our favorite designers off the New York runway is Alexander Wang-known for his edgy way of styling and cool cut outs in the perfect places:

Alexander Wang-Fall 2009

Mason-Fall 2009 Double Layer Silk Dress
**Available in sizes 2,4,6 at Helianthus $298

Chic and gorgeous for an elegant evening, try this style with boots and stacked bangles for a trendy look.

Alexander Wang-Fall 2009

Myne-Holiday 2009 Riley Black Party Dress
**Available in sizes 0,2,4,6 at Helianthus  $278

Pairing short leggings under a super mini dress with cutouts gives it a unique feel, makes it more comfortable to wear and makes a formal dress more versatile for casual occassions.

For a more elegant event, celebrities often look to designers like Dior, Lanvin and Alexander McQueen-but for the price of one outfit from those designers, you can buy several dresses here with high quality and with great design details.

Grace Sun - Fall 2009 Ruffle Sheath Dress
**Available in sizes 0,2,4 at Helianthus $285

This Givenchy dress has a beautiful structured shoulder, but the waist gets lost-for a not so flattering fit.  Grace sun's classy 1940's inspired dress takes into account the best fit.
